About the event

KTU “WANTed” Career Days 2021  is the largest event for contacts and career planning in the Baltic States, attended by students, pupils and companies and organised by Kaunas University of Technology.

The Career Days, organised for the last sixteen years, helped thousands of students to successfully enter the labour market and the representatives of companies to find the most talented employees and interns for their organisations.

​​​​​Due to the situation of coronavirus in Lithuania and the rest of the world, we inform that Career Days event will take place in distance environment. These prevention measures are implied to protect participants’ well-​being.

This event is for:

The students and graduates of all the schools of higher education who want to:

  1. Find an internship place;
  2. Try to get a job offer;
  3. Get new ideas for the topic of their final degree project;
  4. Listen to the presentations of the experts in the area;
  5. Learn about the latest innovations and work culture at the companies.

The business and public sector organisations aiming to:

  1. introduce themselves;
  2. form their image for the needs of young people;
  3. attract best young talents.

The pupils of all the local schools who are:

  1. interested in the labour market trends, their future professions and the development of innovations;
  2. get acquainted with the most famous Lithuanian and foreign employers;
  3. get acquainted with the most promising study programs of Kaunas University of Technology.

How to become WANTed employer? (Memo)

How to prepare for the “WANTed” Career Days?

 

  • You can initiate an announcement about your participation in the event in your organization’s website or in social media. Join the event in Facebook and LinkedIn and start following the information of this event;
  • If you are not registered to the “WANTed” platform, where job and practices possibilities are shared, you are very welcome to do that in this link: https://wanted.ktu.edu/students-internship/;
  • Please decide, how and in which way you would like to represent your organization, as well as, please consider which colleague will administrate and organize the representation of your organization;
  • Take in a consideration which colleague of your organization could perform in virtual Q&A sessions, where he / she will be answering to the students questions;
  • Please set a strong objectives, such as: what king of workers are you searching at this moment and will be searching in near future, how many free occupations for the workers your organization has at this moment and will be having in a near future;
  • Consider and prepare the proposals for the practice / job / final projects themes and appload them to the “WANTed” job and practice advertisements platform;
  • Also you can take a look at KTU studies programmes where our students are studying: https://admissions.ktu.edu/;
  • Try to prepare for the most unexpected questions about your organization, work place, emotional climate, possibilities, future colleagues which could be and possibly will be raised by students.

How to be an atractive employer at the “WANTed” Carrer Days?

 

  • Communicate openly and friendly with students.
  • Share information about your company, try to answer any questions you may have.
  • Offer students a relevant topic for the final project.
  • Collaborate and make new connections.
  • Create a small celebration for yourself and your colleagues – we wish this event to be a fun experience for everyone.

How to become WANTed?

How to prepare for Career Days?

  • Create / improve your LinkedIn profile;
  • Prepare a presentable CV;
  • Evaluate your strengths, your professional experience and career ambitions;
  • Learn more about the participating companies and their offers in Career Days;
  • Participate in career consultations and trainings;
  • Name what added value you can bring to a particular company and why you would like to become part of that particular company.

How to use all the possibilities?

Speed networking session

We invite 3rd and 4th year Bachelor and 1st and 2nd year Master students to participate in the Speed Networking session contest! During the Career Days (October 27), representatives from fourteen companies will want to meet and interact with you. The opportunity is worth a million – or, in other words – don’t miss the opportunity to meet your future employer!
Where? 27 October, 14:00, KTU Santaka Valley, Design Library premises.
Conversation process: Participants will talk to each other for 5 minutes, and then change. Everyone will exchange LinkedIn contacts, briefly talk about themselves / play an exchange of views game.
Interested? Great! So what to do:
Take part in the competition! Introduce yourself in 3 sentences, you have to show creativity and motivation, why you want to meet with company representatives.
Fill in the form until 20 October and take part in the competition!
Until 25 October, 14 lucky ones will receive invitations to the Speed Networking session!

Job interview simulations

We invite all 2nd, 3rd and 4th year bachelor and 1st and 2nd year master students to participate in the competition for the opportunity to test their strength in job interview simulations!
On 27 October representatives from fourteen companies will be ready to communicate with you and provide valuable feedback to make you even more prepared for a real job interview. Who knows, maybe this one will be fateful?

You can already register on the KTU WANTed job and internship platform here.
During the event you will have the opportunity to share your CV with companies.
On 11 October, 12:30-13:30 take part in an online lecture “What is really important when preparing a CV?” and find out what points are critical in your resume.
Submit your resume through the KTU WANTed job and internship platform on 7-19 October.
The lucky ones will receive an e-mail with ZOOM links to join the simulations!
Simulation job interviews will take place on 27 October.
P.S. You will receive a digital badge by participating in this activity. Students who collect the most badges have a chance to win Career Days prizes!
